It's hard to ignore the blatant sexism and misogyny, but it is still a wholesome romcom/dramcom.

perfect film to run on the background while doing some work

is it really a dhanush movie if there isn’t a holi festival where a pretty girl gently smears some color on his face?
(was 5 stars but then i remembered the part when vasu said he’d acid attack keerthi if she kept talking so nah)
ALL THE SONGS ARE 10/10 yuvan i love you

idk what’s worse: dhanush telling nayan to smile or nayan literally tearing into him on his first day 😭
yuvi + dhanush + nayan = powerhouse of talent

so i will admit there are many parts of this film that are sexist. especially since in the beginning there's a lot of male entitlement going on.
but, i think that this movie does a great job of highlighting the modern indian woman's struggle. trying to seem more western and put together for city life/work comes with its own consequences and assumptions, while going back to your roots or more traditional upbringing doesn't quite fit either, as much as you might want it to. i found this really relatable and the second half of the movie particularly enjoyable. i miss being around my big family and this movie reminds me of why i want to struggle to balance both my…

i hate how much this movie speaks to me.
i think about keerthi and kadhu (from nrd) way too much for a sane person. these two, and then most eligible bachelor, and of course, krk are like south movies i reference every day because of how many little details have captured my imagination.
the way nayan plays a woman with something to hide... immaculate. this movie's first half honestly defines my life in a way no other movie does. anyone who thinks this isn't an accurate experience of working in engineering is either too young or too privileged to Get It. the way that keerthi is trapped between these two worlds -- of being excellent at her job (you go…

Among the many Dhanush movie re releases in the past 6 months, YNM felt spl, coz of most those films like 3, Vada Chennai, Mayakkam Enna tend to get intense after a while but Yaaradi Nee Mohini is a proper hindi cinema coded romcom that's chill throughout (Yeah I ve seen the original telugu film n love that too). I associate YNM specially with some of my female friends as they speak so fondly of this all the time. One of those raised an entire generation of kids film, the Dhanush-Nayanthara pair and their chemistry, superhit soundtrack and the many fun moments. Proper vacation film. The theatrical celebration was insane today, I mean I know it's a given these days…

genuinely can't tell if I'm just getting biased by recency and newness or if Nayanthara is the most objectively all rounder actress I've seen since the year 2000.
she's hot, she's cute, she's sexy, she's sweet, she's modern, she's traditional, she's a hero's heroine, she's a heroine who needs no hero, she's award winning, she's ticket selling, she can also dance well despite how little she shows it, she's got an amazing figure, she's got a buttery voice, she's got it all!
she gives me strong Rani Mukherjee or Priyanka Chopra vibes, both able to pull off both sexy and cute and strong actresses to be able to lead a film solo and with others, but somehow the cards are…
